3B’S Mysore Program
Ashtanga yoga is traditionally taught in what is called the “Mysore Style”. In this class the student learns to develop an individualized practice within a group setting under the guidance of a teacher who has spent several years engaged in dedicated, serious practice. This way of teaching was developed in Mysore, India by the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the founder of the Ashtanga Yoga method. This is a movement and breathing system designed to marry the breath with the power and focus of conscious movement.
In a Mysore style class the practice is slowly developed over time, learning the postures one by one, using repetition and memorization to gradually build your skills and create an individualized, mature personal practice that is suited to your particular individual circumstances.
The Mysore Program at 3B Yoga consists of five days of Mysore and one day of Led Primary Series taught by Ashtanga teacher Joanna Darlington. Contact us prior to attending. Pre-registration is required for the Intro to Mysore Course.
Sunday – 8:30-10:30am (doors open 8:15am)
Monday-Thursday – 6-8am (doors open 5:30am)
Led Primary Series:
Friday – 6-7:30am (please arrive on time)
